11 August 2026 – The Royal Thai Embassy in Copenhagen organized a Buddhist prayer and alms-giving ceremony to dedicate merit in commemoration of the Birthday Anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother, at Wat Pa Copenhagen. The Most Venerable Phra Videsh Vajirakitti, Abbot of Wat Pa Copenhagen, presided over the religious ceremony, and Her Excellency Mrs. Suphanvasa Chotikajan Tang, Ambassador of Thailand to Denmark, presided over the ceremony on behalf of the lay community. Also in attendance were officials and staff of the Royal Thai Embassy in Copenhagen, who joined the religious ceremony and the alms-giving to dedicate merit as an offering on this auspicious occasion.
 
In Thailand, 12 August is also observed annually as Mother’s Day, in recognition of the boundless grace and profound benevolence of Her Majesty The Queen Mother.
