On 6–9 August 2026 Ms. Vowpailin Chovichien, Minister Counsellor, Mr. Natthawut Malisuwan, Consul, together with staff from the Royal Thai Embassy in Copenhagen, visited Greenland to provide mobile consular services and meet with the Thai community, which numbers approximately 428 persons.

 

The Royal Thai Embassy organized consular services at Hotel Hans Egede in Nuuk, Greenland, on 8 August 2026. Services included passport application, legalization, civil and family registration, as well as consular advice for members of the Thai community. On this occasion, the Embassy delegation visited various businesses owned by the Thai community — including restaurants, Thai massage and spa, hotels, and grocery stores — and met Thai nationals working in various sectors in Greenland.

 

In addition, the Minister Counsellor and the delegation met and held discussions with Mr. Thomas Mogensen, Chairman of the Board of Greenland Children (Grønlandske Børn) — a charitable organisation that operates assistance programmes for children and young people in Greenland, with its headquarters in Copenhagen and a branch office in Nuuk. The Royal Thai Embassy previously co-organised the Diplomatic Bazaar 2026 together with the Ambassadors’ Spouses Group to raise funds in support of the organisation, which in turn is able to provide assistance to Thai children and young people in Greenland who are in need of support — including in areas such as education, safety and well-being, and social adjustment, among others.

 

Furthermore, the Minister Counsellor and delegation met with Mr. Jakob Rohmann Hard, Chief of Protocol, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Greenland, to discuss cooperation between the Royal Thai Embassy and the Government of Greenland. Mr. Hard also observed the Embassy’s mobile consular services in operation.
