On Sunday 15 May 2022, H.E. Mrs. Sirilak Niyom, Ambassador of Thailand to Denmark, and Mr. Puwit Wisartsakul, Consul, attended the final match of World Championship Petanque 2022 at Karlslunde Hallen Sports Venue & Stadium, Karlslunde, Denmark, to cheer and support the Thai national team of Petanque athletes. Thailand’s "Jack" Sarawut Sribunpheng and "Fai" Nuntawan Fuengsanit in the mixed doubles category defeated the Spanish national team and received a gold medal. Today’s victory is the second consecutive World Championship for both of the said Thai athletes. In addition, Thailand also won another bronze medal in the women's singles category from “Tai” Pantipha Wongchuwet. The organizer of the competition invited the Ambassador to present the medals to the three Thai athletes. After the competition, the Ambassador also hosted lunch for the Thai national team of Petanque athletes at the Ambassador's Residence.
