On 21 September 2026, the Royal Thai Embassy in Copenhagen, which is also accredited to Lithuania, organised the Thai Culture Day and Innovation Showcase at Ellex Valiunas in Vilnius, bringing together representatives from the Lithuanian Government, diplomatic corps, business and industry, universities and professional communities, as well as friends of Thailand, to experience Thai culture and learn more about Thailand’s capabilities in medical innovation.

 

The event was welcomed by Mr. Rolandas Valiunas, Honorary Consul of Thailand to the Republic of Lithuania, and opened by H.E. Mrs. Suphanvasa Chotikajan Tang, Ambassador of Thailand to Lithuania. Dr. Sarawut Boonsuk, Director-General of the Department of Medical Sciences, Ministry of Public Health of Thailand, delivered a keynote address highlighting Thailand’s approach to advancing health innovation through public policy, scientific capabilities, and collaboration among government, researchers, and industry.

 

Guests also had the opportunity to explore displays on Thai Medical Innovation and “Chud Thai,” traditional Thai dress, while discovering aspects of Thai culture through a selection of Thai cuisine, including Larb Gai with Cucumber, Goong Hom Pha, and Pad Mee Korat, accompanied by a selection of Thai herbal drinks.

 

The event provided a platform for participants to gain a deeper understanding of Thailand’s culture and innovation, while connecting and exchanging ideas with Thai and Lithuanian counterparts and exploring opportunities for future cooperation.
