On 21 August 2023 at 11.00 hrs., H.E. Mrs. Sirilak Niyom, Ambassador of Thailand to Denmark, and Counsellor Jaya Patrachai, welcomed and met with Mr. Lars Henriksen, CEO and Partner of Primodan, Mr. John Persson, Export Manager, and Mr. Lars Siggaard Andersen, consultant for Primodan, a leading Danish company which designs, manufactures and supplies equipment for the dairy processing industry. The company plans to bring a Danish dairy business team to visit Thailand in November 2023 to explore ways to expand the market for the company's products in Thailand, where the company considers a potential market as the largest producer and exporter of dairy products in Southeast Asia, and expressed its interest in the policy on Thai dairy industry for further marketing planning in Thailand.

Her Excellency the Ambassador gave information about the Thai-Danish dairy cooperation that has been going on for more than 60 years after the establishment of the Thai-Danish dairy farm in 1962. Since then, Thai dairy industry has continued to develop. Currently, there are more than 24,000 dairy farms in total, most of which are small farms. There are 162 raw milk collection centers and 130 dairy processing plants. At present, both countries have continued to expand their dairy cooperation by the signing of the memorandum of understanding (MOU) in Bangkok on 31 January 2022 to promote smart and sustainable dairy farming through modern dairy farm management and the use of new technologies for resource-efficient and more environmentally-friendly milk production in Thailand. The Thai-Denmark Smart Dairy Farm has been established at Muak Lek District, Saraburi Province in 2019, which is a demonstration farm with modern technology that the company can visit. In addition, Thailand has developed National Strategic Action Plan for dairy production development which is in line with the BCG (Bio-Circular-Green) economic model, aiming to elevate Thailand's dairy industry to the global standard with sustainability throughout the dairy value chain and to promote Thailand as a leader in this industry in the region. The Ambassador viewed that technology of Primodan company could support Thailand to achieve this goal and the embassy would help coordinate with the company in order to meet with relevant Thai agencies to discuss about their further concrete cooperations.
