On 31 August 2023, H.E. Mrs. Sirilak Niyom, Ambassador of Thailand to Denmark, and Mr. Henrik Gjøde Nielsen, Director of the North Jutland Coastal Museums, co-hosted a Thai dinner prepared by a Thai chef of the Ambassador's residence, at the Coastal Museum of Skagen in honour of the executives of the museum and distinguished guests. Her Excellency the Ambassador expressed her gratitude to the museum executives for the use of the museum area to organize Thai Day activities on 1 September 2023 and commended close cooperation between the Royal Thai Embassy and the Museum to promote ties between Thailand and people of Skagen, where His Majesty King Chulalongkorn (King Rama V) visited during his second trip to Europe in 1907.

Later, on 1 September 2023, the Royal Thai Embassy in Copenhagen together with the Coastal Museum of Skagen organized the Thai Day at the museum's courtyard. In her welcoming remarks, Her Excellency the Ambassador reminded the participants of the relationship between Thailand and Denmark that has lasted more than 400 years since their first contact during Ayutthaya period. The Thai Day is organised to commemorate the 115th anniversary of H.M. King Chulalongkorn's visit to Skagen on 4 July 1907, where he placed the White Elephant flag at Cape Grenen, the northern most part of Denmark. It is a symbol of the foundation of strong relationship between Thailand and Denmark which has continued until the present. Today the White Elephant flag is well preserved at the Coastal Museum of Skagen. In addition, the Thai Day in Skagen was also part of the celebration of the 165th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Denmark this year. After the remarks, Her Excellency the Ambassador also presented a Thai elephant statue to Mr. Henrik Gjøde Nielsen, Director of the North Jutland Coastal Museums.
 
The activities within the Thai Day event included an exhibition about H.M. King Chulalongkorn's visit to Skagen, an exhibition about important Danish figures who were involved in the modernisation of Siam during the reign of King Rama V, an exhibition about Thai elephants and the White Elephant flag, Thai food booth, performances of Thai dances, Thai music, Thai and international songs applied with Thai music instruments conducted by young Thai artists from Moradokmai Theatre Community led by Mr. Janaprakul Chandruang or “Kru Chang”, a Thai national artist. Thai souvenirs; Thai elephant keychains, and Thai tourism brochures were distributed to the guests, visitors of the museum and the Thai community in Skagen. The Thai Day received much attention and admiration of the guests who attended the event.
