On Sunday, 2 August 2026, the Royal Thai Embassy in Copenhagen participated in the Asalha Bucha Day celebrations and the candle casting ceremony at Wat Pa Lolland in southern Denmark. The religious ceremony was presided over by The Most Venerable Phra Videsh Vajirakitti, Abbot of Wat Pa Copenhagen, while Her Excellency Mrs. Suphanvasa Chotikajan Tang, Ambassador of Thailand to Denmark, presided over the lay ceremony.

 

The event was attended by diplomats and staff of the Royal Thai Embassy in Copenhagen and their spouses, as well as members of the Thai community in Denmark, who took part in chanting, morning Buddhist observances, merit-making through alms-giving, and offering food to the monks.

 

On this occasion, the Ambassador addressed the participants and thanked the Thai community, who had collectively organized food stalls to serve the large number of attendees. She also invited members of the Thai community in Denmark to join in the various activities that will be organized by the Embassy.
