On 24 April 2023, H.E. Ms. Sirilak Niyom, Ambassador of Thailand to Denmark, led the delegation from Roong Arron School, an alternative school in Thailand, on the visit to Copenhagen International School (CIS). Mr. Timothy Veale, Director of CIS, welcomed the delegation and provided a briefing on the education approach of the School. According to Mr. Veale, CIS exceled in many aspects. On the architectural side and building design, the School was built on the selected location to be surrounded by water, and was covered from top to bottom with solar panels to power the School. The inside of CIS was designed and organized with a clear goal of engendering comprehensive learning spaces across the entirety of the School with multiple open spaces for the students to freely utilize for their group study. On the academic side, CIS encouraged its students to learn from direct experiences and their surrounding environments, promoted creativity through hand-on approaches, as well as instilled the importance of the concept of environmental sustainability to the students. Mr. Veales also emphasized the role of the teachers as equal participants of any learning process together with the students. On this occasion, the Ambassador discussed with Mr. Veales regarding cooperations between the Embassy and the School on potential educational and cultural exchange activities in the future in which the School expressed readiness on the matter.
