On 9 September 2022, H.E. Mrs. Sirilak Niyom, Ambassador of Thailand to Lithuania with residence in Copenhagen, met with H.E Mr. Egidijus Meilūnas, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania to discuss plans to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Thailand-Lithuania diplomatic relations in 2023 and to promote trade and investment, to expand cooperation in innovation especially in the field of life sciences, digital economy and medical technology as well as to promote people-to-people relations through tourism and culture.
On the same day, H.E. Ambassador also met with Prof. Dr. Edita Sužiedėlienė, Vice-Rector and Pro-Rector for Research at Vilnius University to discuss opportunities for academic cooperation between Vilnius University and educational or research institutions in Thailand especially in the field of life sciences and medical sciences, educational personnel and student exchange as well as the provision of scholarships for Thai students to study at Vilnius University.
Later in the day, the Ambassador met with Dr. Naglis Ramanauskas, Chief Medical Officer and Co-Founder of Oxipit, to discuss opportunities to bring artificial intelligence for medical applications in Thailand especially radiology for chest imaging that the company specializes in as well as chances of transferring knowledge in medical technology to hospitals in Thailand.
