On 9 September 2022, H.E. Mrs. Sirilak Niyom, Ambassador of Thailand to Lithuania with residence in Copenhagen, together with Mr. Theerakun Niyom, her spouse, and Mr. Rolandas Valiūnas, Honorary Consul of Thailand in Vilnius, together with Mrs. Renata Valiūnienė, his spouse, co-hosted a "Taste of Thailand" dinner for dignitaries and high-profile guests in Lithuania at the Honorary Consul’s residence. Participants include Mr. Marius Skuodis, Minister of Transport and Communications of Lithuania, together with Mrs. Rita Skuodienė, his spouse, Mr. Egidijus Meilūnas, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, together with Mrs. Galina Meilūnienė, his spouse, Mrs. Dalia Kreivienė, Director of External Economic Relations and Economic Security Policy Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Prof. Dr. Edita Sužiedėlienė, Vice-Rector and Pro-Rector for Research at Vilnius University, Mr. Vidmantas Janulevičius, President of Lithuanian Association of Industrialists, Prof. Vladas Bumelis, Owner of Biotechpharma, a major biotechnology and pharmaceutical company in the Baltic region, together with Ms. Junona Bumelytė, his daughter, and Mrs. Laura Blaževičiūtė, CEO of All Media Lithuania (TV 3 Group) operating one of the largest television, radio and media outlets in Lithuania.

In the dinner speech, H.E. the Ambassador expressed her thanks to all the guests for attending the event and reiterated the close relations between Thailand and Lithuania which will mark their 30th anniversary next year as well as the promotion of cooperation between the two countries by taking advantage of Lithuania as a country of innovation and a gateway to the Baltic region while Thailand is a hub of Asia in terms of connectivity, tourism and medical services. She also highlighted the resiliency of the Thai economy due to its strong financial and fiscal foundations, logistics and infrastructure and the expansion of the digital economy which provide a good opportunity for doing business.

All the guests expressed their impression of the authentic taste of Thai food and the art of food decoration with carved vegetables and fruits presented by chief of the Ambassador as well as the decoration of the dining table with Thai arts and crafts. They also hoped for Thai investors to open the first Thai restaurant in Lithuania.

After dinner, Honorary Consul Valiūnas led the guests to a private tour of his residence and his Lithuanian-related collections which are part of the Tartle Museum owned by the Honorary Consul.
