On Sunday 10th September 2023, Royal Thai Embassy in Copenhagen hosted a Tiffin Garden Party for the members of the Dask-Thai Forening. H.E. Mrs. Sirilak Niyom, Ambassador of Thailand to Denmark, welcomed the participating members and reiterated that they are true “Friends of Thailand” who contributed greatly to a long-standing relations between Thailand and Denmark, which celebrates a 165-year anniversary this year. She also took the opportunity to inform the participants about important developments in Thailand including the revival of Thai tourism in which the number of Danish travelers is expected to return to a pre-pandemic figure by the end of this year. She also mentioned that Denmark has in turn gained more and more popularity from Thai tourists and such a connection through tourism would help Thais and Danes to be closer.  

In this occasion, the Ambassador expressed thank to Mr. Hans Siegfredsen, Chairman of the Association for his continuous support for the activities of the Embassy, and also to the members of the Association on their initiative to help underprivileged people in Thailand by making a donation to “Ban Louk Rak”, a privately-operated children’s shelter in Khon Khan province. Afte the party concluded, the Ambassador, along with diplomats from the Embassy, joined a luncheon hosted by the Association at Asia House. A presentation on “Ban Louk Rak” was shown to the participants and additional donations were collected to give to the shelter.

The Dask-Thai Forening was founded in 1951, currently having approximately 100 members who all have connection and bond with Thailand. Many of the members have spent part of their lives in Thailand.
