On 9 September 2023, H.E. Mrs. Sirilak Niyom, Ambassador of Thailand to Denmark hosted a luncheon for Mr. Alex Fritz Sørensen, City Council Member of Esbjerg , and his wife Mrs. Anette Sørensen, at Thai Ambassador's Residence, where diplomats of the Royal Thai Embassy also participated.

On such occasion, Mr. Sørensen presented to Her Excellency the Ambassador the book "Port of Esbjerg" from Mr. Jesper Rasmussen, the Mayor of Esbjerg, for which Her Excellency the Ambassador thanked and discussed ways to foster cooperation with the city of Esbjerg, in particular, bringing delegation of Thai agencies to study about the port management of Esbjerg, Denmark's largest port on the west coast of Jutland to the North Sea, where locate Denmark's important transport industry and offshore wind energy, including leading Thai delegation to visit the Greensand Project, which is the world's first offshore carbon storage project or “carbon graveyard” which is located off the coast of Esbjerg. The relevant Thai agencies interested in learning from this Project already met with the office of Greensand Project in Copenhagen last August. Mr. Sørensen expressed his willingness to coordinate with the Royal Thai Embassy and facilitate further communication with local authorities of Esbjerg. He also expressed interest to visit Thailand in the near future.
