On 4 December 2018, the Royal Thai Embassy in Copenhagen organized the reception on the auspicious occasions of the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty the Late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, the National Day of the Kingdom of Thailand and Thailand’s Father’s Day, 5 December 2018. His Excellency Mr. Vichit Chitvimarn, Ambassador of Thailand to Denmark presided over the ceremony and the reception which was attended by almost 300 people including the diplomatic corps, high-level representatives from the Danish public and private sectors, Team Thailand, academics, the media, Friends of Thailand as well as the Thai community in Denmark.

The Royal Thai Embassy received an honor from the Danish Royal Life Guard Band to perform, with the gracious consent by Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II of Denmark, during the reception. The musical performances included the Royal Anthems of both countries as well as the Marsch Siamese song which was composed by Hans Niel Hass, the bandmaster of the Royal Danish Life Guard Band at that time, in the honour of Mom Rajawongse Satarn Snidvongs who came to Denmark for officers training in the Royal Guards during that time. The Marsch Siamese song is hence a symbol of a unique and deep friendship between Thailand and Denmark and their royal families. In addition, a selection of famous Thai dishes and desserts were also served to the guests during the reception.
