On 10 September 2025, H.E. Mrs. Suphanvasa Chotikajan Tang, Ambassador of Thailand to the Republic of Lithuania with residence in Copenhagen, accompanied by Mr. Puwit Wisartsakul, Deputy Head of Mission/Minister Counsellor, visited the Asian Art Centre in Vilnius and met with Ms. Nomeda Gabija Vosyliūtė, Director of the Asian Art Centre and Lecturer at the Institute of Asian and Transcultural Studies, Vilnius University.
During the visit, the Ambassador and Ms. Vosyliūtė discussed opportunities to enhance cultural cooperation and exchange between Thailand and Lithuania, particularly in the areas of film, contemporary art, performing arts, traditional dance, music, literature, painting and handicrafts.
H.E. Ambassador also hosted a dinner in honour of Ms. Vosyliūtė, where both sides recognized the potential for expanding cultural and Asian studies collaboration to raise awareness of Thailand among Lithuanians, including through Thai film screenings in partnership with the Institute of Asian and Transcultural Studies at Vilnius University.
The Asian Art Centre is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting knowledge and appreciation of Asian art and culture in Lithuania. The Centre organizes a variety of activities, including festivals, art exhibitions, film screenings, tourism exhibitions, lectures, seminars, guided tours, and creative workshops, providing both educational and hands-on experiences to foster greater understanding of Asian culture.
