On 15 November 2023, H.E. Mrs. Sirilak Niyom, Ambassador of Thailand to Denmark, and Mr. Theerakun Niyom, her spouse, hosted a luncheon for Professor Jan W. Thomsen, a quantum expert, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Novo Nordisk Foundation Quantum Computing Program (NQCP) and former Director of the Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen, and his wife Mrs. Laila Chemnitz, at the Thai Ambassador's Residence, to thank Professor Thomsen for his participation as a speaker in the Project to promote cooperation and develop potential in quantum technology and innovation between the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) of Thailand and the Niels Bohr Institute of Denmark during 18 - 20 September 2023 in Thailand. The Project has been successfully achieved in creating network of cooperation in quantum technology between Thailand and Denmark in order to strengthening Thailand's structure to become a country with an ecosystem of quantum technology and innovation with focus on sustainability.
On such occasion, Her Excellency the Ambassador discussed and exchanged opinions with Professor Thomsen on pursuing concrete cooperation in the field of quantum technology, such as the exchange program for quantum students and researchers, co-organizing a Quantum summer school in Thailand and inviting Thai researchers to study or conduct researches in Denmark's Quantum Power House in the following year.
