On 19 December 2024, the Royal Thai Embassy in Copenhagen, together with the Thailand and Nordics Countries Innovation Unit (TNIU) and the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA), organized an online seminar on “Technology and Innovation as a game changer – A case study from Aarhus, Denmark”, with Mr. Jesper Algren, Head of Center for Innovation in Aarhus and Aarhus City Lab, Department of Innovation, Technology and Creativity (ITK), as a guest speaker to share knowledge, and Dr. Non Akkaraprasertkul, Senior Expert, Smart City Promotion Department, Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA) as a moderator.
This seminar aims at inspiring the use of innovative approaches to urban development, focusing on citizen participation and climate actions by sharing case studies and the success story of Aarhus City Lab, which is driven by technology, data and cooperation between the government, private sector, and the public, to create sustainable and resilient cities. There was also an exchange of case studies from Thailand, such as Nakhon Si Thammarat Municipality, which received an award from the World Smart City Expo 2023 in South Korea, which emphasized not only the use of technology but also the participation of all sectors. There were 46 participants attended this webinar including academics, teachers, students, representatives of sub-district administrative organizations and the private sector.
