On 19 June 2022 at 12.00 hrs., H.E. Mrs. Sirilak Niyom, Ambassador of Thailand to Denmark, and Mr. Theerakun Niyom, Ambassador’s spouse, hosted a Tiffin Garden Party for members of the Danish-Thai Society (Dansk-Thai Forening) at the Thai Residence in Copenhagen. During the Tiffin, Her Excellency the Ambassador gave a welcoming speech to mark the role of Dansk-Thai Forening which greatly contributed to the relations between Thailand and Denmark. She particularly thanked Mr. Hans Siegfredsen, Chairman of the Society for his collaboration with the Danish business entrepreneurs in the establishment of Danish-Thai Business Network or danthainet.com and assured the Embassy’s full cooperation with the Society as a good partner to achieve common goal.

Her Excellency the Ambassador further outlined important developments in Thailand especially the removal of the Thailand Pass registration scheme and an COVID-19 insurance requirement for foreign visitors, from 1 July 2022 and invited members of the society as well as more Danes to visit Thailand both for business and pleasure.

The Tiffin is an annual tradition of collaboration between the Royal Thai Embassy and the Danish-Thai Society in which members of the Society and the Embassy officials have lunch together.

The Danish-Thai Society was founded in 1951, currently having approximately 100 members who all have connection with Thailand. Many of the members have spent part of their lives in Thailand.
