On 18 February 2022, the MasterChef Denmark broadcasted a special episode dedicated to Thai cuisine “Tom Yam Koong” on Danish TV3. In the cooking competition, there were two contestants in two teams in the semi-final round, with participation of Her Excellency Mrs. Sirilak Niyom, Ambassador of Thailand as a judge. Her Excellency the Ambassador mentioned in the programme about the uniqueness of Thai cuisine which harmoniously blends all the savoury tastes and contains vegetables and herbs that are beneficial for one’s health which are the reasons why Thai food has become so popular worldwide. In fact, this special episode of MasterChef Denmark is part of the commemoration of 400th Anniversary of the First Contact between Thailand and Denmark (1621 – 2021) and Thai food has long served as a means of connecting and strengthening ties between Thai and Danish peoples.
