On 26 February 2022, H.E. Mrs. Sirilak Niyom, Ambassador of Thailand to Denmark visited Thai booth at the Ferie for Alle 2022 at MCH Messecenter in Herning, the largest tourism fair in Scandinavia. The Tourism Authority of Thailand, Stockholm Office, organized a booth to promote tourism to Thailand with participation from Thai Airways and tour agencies such as Asia Evolution, Check Point Travel, Top Tours, Drømmerejser, and Stjernegaard Rejser. Through out the two days event, there were many visitors dropping by the Thai booth and asked for the information on package tour in Thailand.
Prior to the COVID-19, approximately 160,000 Danish tourists visited Thailand each year, with more than half of them were repeat visitors. After the new TEST & GO rules take into effect from 1 March 2022, the required prepaid accommodation will be reduced to 1 night and the COVID-19 tests will be revised from RT-PCR to 1 self-ATK on the fifth day. The health insurance coverage will also be reduced to no less than US$20,000. Moreover, Thai Airways will increase its direct flight from Copenhagen to Bangkok from three flights a week to daily flights in this summer. This will make it easier for foreign tourists to visit Thailand. It is expected that tourists from Denmark will increasingly return to Thailand soon.
