Ambassador of Thailand to Denmark participated in the event “Meaningful Travel Showcase : Amazing Thailand Roadshow to Scandinavia 2023”

On 15 August 2023, H.E. Mrs. Sirilak Niyom, Ambassador of Thailand to Denmark participated in the event “Meaningful Travel Showcase: Amazing Thailand Roadshow to Scandinavia 2023” at Radisson Collection Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, organized by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Stockholm Office. Mr. Yuthasak Supasorn, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand gave an opening remark, presenting the concept and implementation of 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through tourism under the Sustainable Tourism Goals or STGs strategy, to 36 Danish tourism business operators and medias.
 
Subsequently, the Directors of the TAT Office in 5 regions, namely Bangkok, Krabi, Trat, Khon Kaen and Chiang Mai, presented Thailand's tourist attractions which have been developed according to the STGs and are likely to be popular with Danish tourists: 1) Bang Kobua at Khung Bang Krachao near Bangkok, outstanding for local community lifestyle in the midst of natures and plantations that are urban oasis of Bangkok, 2) Thung Yee Peng, Koh Lanta, Krabi Province, outstanding for local community enterprises in eco-tourism, 3) Koh Mak, Trat Province, outstanding for being the first low-carbon destination in Thailand. 4. Khon Kaen is outstanding for Isan gastronomy and sustainable tourism, 5. Doi Pu Muen in Chiang Mai, outstanding for its Assam tea plantations and the Lahu tribes’way of life in community homestays and farm stays.
 
On such occasions, Her Excellency the Ambassador hosted a dinner in honor of the Governor of the TAT at the Thai Residence. Since the beginning of 2023, there are 65,551 Danish tourists who have visited Thailand, which surpass the number of Danish tourists who traveled to Thailand in 2022, with a total of 64,249 people. Therefore, it is anticipated that this year the number of Danish tourists traveling to Thailand will be comparable to that of years prior to the COVID-19 outbreak with the visits of 100,000 - 120,000 Danish tourists.
