Mrs. Sirilak Niyom, Ambassador of Thailand to Copenhagen, participated as a guest speaker in the STARTUP x INNOVATION THAILAND EXPO 2022 organized by the the National Innovation Agency via online system, together with Thai Ambassadors to Nordic and Baltic Regions. Her Excellency the Ambassador has provided information on the economic potential of Denmark which is ranked at the top of the world in terms of competitiveness, economic resilience, and transparency of business. The fields of technology and innovation in which Denmark excels and encourages investment are food and agriculture, renewable energy, robotics and automation, and life sciences, etc., which Thai start-ups might seek collaboration or try market access if they are ready thanks to Denmark's excellent innovation and infrastructure environment. However, Thai products must be safe, their manufacturing processes must not harm the environment, and they must adhere to EU standards.
H.E. the Ambassador further opined that Denmark is an innovative society because it encourages citizens to use their imagination and creativity from an early age, both inside and outside of the classroom, all the way through higher education, where there is collaboration between the public and private sectors to support research and innovation and translate into products that create economic values, and that Thailand can learn. Moreover, Denmark has a number of interesting innovation agencies that Thai agencies may seek collaboration, such as Innovation Center Denmark / Danish Technological Institute/ Odense Robotics / Agro Food Park / Food Nation Denmark / State of Green etc., which the embassy is ready to help coordinate contacts.
In addition, Thai private sectors can participate in the Nordic Innovation Fair 2022 which will be held on 26-27 September 2022 in Copenhagen. This will be an opportunity to learn new innovations of the Nordic countries and business matching. The Royal Thai Embassy in Copenhagen will continue to disseminate information through Thailand and the Nordic Countries Innovation Unit (TNIU).
