On 14 June 2022, H.E. Mrs. Sirilak Niyom, Ambassador of Thailand to Denmark, and Mr. Jaya Patrachai, Counsellor, participated in the Annual Agriculture and Food Inspired Excursion organized by the Danish Agriculture and Food Council (DAFC) with about 30 participants comprising of Ambassadors and representatives of diplomatic missions in Denmark.

In the morning, the participants visit a dairy farm of Arla Foods in Præstø, which participates in the Climate Check Program and focuses on sustainable dairy farming and smart farming by raising approximately 260 dairy cows and milking them using three robot-controlled machines for 24 hours a day, six days a week, with only three farm workers.

 

Additionally, in the afternoon, the participants visited the DLG Group's food factory in Bårse, which is a fully integrated grain producer and feed exporter as well as Europe’s largest supply farm company committed to sustainable and green solutions. The participants also visited Northern Europe’s largest grain terminal at Vesthavnen port on Masnesø island, Vordingborg, which demonstrates Danish leadership in food production for export and green transitions using Danish knowledge and technologies.

 

Arla Foods' technology could be used to develop dairy farms in Thailand as well as Thai-Danish dairy farm that are developing into smart dairy farms and precision agriculture. H.E. the Ambassador took this opportunity to inform representative of the company about Thailand’s potential for investment in sustainable agriculture especially in the Biopolis compound within the Eastern Economic Corridor of Innovation (ECCi) which has an ecosystem of research and development of modern agricultural innovations, in which the Company has expressed its interest and is ready to discuss further investment opportunities.
