On 9 October 2026, 18.00 – 23.00 hrs, the ASEAN Committee in Copenhagen, comprising the Embassies of Viet Nam, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand and Asia House, co-organised“ASEAN NIGHT OF COLOURS – A Journey Through Southeast Asia” at Asia House in Copenhagen. The event was part of Kulturnatten (Culture Night), an annual cultural festival that invites the public to explore cultural activities and visit prominent venues across Copenhagen at night.

The event showcased the cultural diversity of Southeast Asia through exhibitions, workshops, food and traditional games. Thailand presented its cultural exhibition in the “Bangkok Room” through four themes: Festival, featuring the Loy Krathong festival with a krathong-making workshop; Films, showcasing the diversity of Thai films; Fight, featuring demonstrations of Muay Thai techniques; and Fashion, offering visitors the opportunity to try on Thai traditional attire. Thai food and beverages were also served, including chicken panang curry, kai luk koei (fried boiled eggs with tamarind sauce), grilled chicken and sticky rice, Thai tea, lemongrass and pandan drink, and butterfly pea lemon drink. Visitors could also enjoy traditional Thai games, coconut-shell walking, as well as “Hanuman’s Mighty Gulp”, a ball-tossing game with prizes, as well as introductory Thai language lessons. Through the “ASEAN Passport” activity, visitors collected stamps by participating in activities hosted by each ASEAN country and redeemed them for souvenirs.

The event formed part of cultural diplomacy efforts to promote understanding of ASEAN’s diverse cultural heritage and strengthen people-to-people ties between ASEAN and Denmark. Asia House holds historical significance as a former headquarters of the East Asiatic Company (EAC), reflecting the longstanding trade and historical connections between Denmark and Southeast Asia. The building grounds also houses a replica equestrian statue of His Majesty King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) of Thailand.

The event successfully attracted an estimated number of more than 1,000 visitors. The Royal Thai Embassy extends its sincere appreciation to the Rak Thai Association, the Thai Students and Alumni Association in Denmark (TSAAD), and members of the Thai community in Denmark for their valuable support in making the event a success.
