Ambassador of Thailand to Lithuania with residence in Copenhagen meets with Senior Officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania and participates in the 5th Thailand–Lithuania Political Consultations

On 22 September 2025, H.E. Mrs. Suphanvasa Chotikajan Tang, Ambassador of Thailand to the Republic of Lithuania with residence in Copenhagen, together with Mr. Puwit Wisartsakul, Deputy Head of Mission/Minister Counsellor, visited Lithuania to meet with Mr. Ričardas Šlepavičius, Director General of the Indo-Pacific Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania. The meeting aimed to strengthen bilateral relations in various dimensions and prepare for the 5th Thailand–Lithuania Political Consultations, to be co-chaired by Mr. Šlepavičius and Mrs. Krongkanit Rakcharoen, Director-General of the Department of European Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand.
On 23 September 2025, the Ambassador attended the 5th Thailand–Lithuania Political Consultations. During the consultations, both sides exchanged views on international political and economic developments, bilateral relations, trade and investment, as well as explored opportunities to expand cooperation in areas such as life sciences, digital economy, cyber security, space technology, and education.
Discussions also covered regional and multilateral issues, including the acceleration of negotiations on the Thailand–EU Free Trade Agreement, Lithuania’s support for Thailand’s bid to join the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), and the facilitation of Schengen visa exemption for Thai ordinary passport holders.
Following the consultations, the Ambassador attended a luncheon meeting hosted by H.E. Mr. Julius Pranevičius, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, where both sides exchanged views on regional and global issues of mutual interest, including developments within ASEAN and the Indo-Pacific, the situation in Ukraine, as well as the Thai-Cambodian border situation.
