On 12 October 2026, the Royal Thai Embassy in Copenhagen held a Buddhist merit-making ceremony and alms-giving at Wat Pa Copenhagen to make merit in honour of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great on the occasion of Navamindra Maharaj Day, 13 October 2026.

The ceremony was presided over on the monastic side by Phra Vithesvachirakitti, Abbot of Wat Pa Copenhagen, joined by five other monks, who chanted the Buddhist blessings. Her Excellency Mrs. Suphanvasa Chotikajan Tang, Ambassador of Thailand to Denmark, presided over the lay ceremony, and was joined by diplomats and staff of the Royal Thai Embassy, the Office of Commercial Affairs in Copenhagen, as well as members of the Thai community in Denmark.

On this occasion, Her Excellency lit incense and candles to pay homage to the Triple Gem, and offered a set of golden trays (Khreuang Thong Noi) in homage before the royal portrait of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great. The monks then chanted the Buddhist blessings and the Satpakon chants. She then presented robes to the monks, performed the water-pouring rite (Kruad Nam), received their blessings, and joined in the alms-giving. In addition, the Embassy has set up an altar table enshrining the royal portrait of His Majesty, together with royal offerings, throughout October 2026 at the Embassy.
