On 26 November 2022, H.E. Mrs. Sirilak Niyom, Ambassador of Thailand to Denmark welcomed Mr. Thanya Netithammakun, Director-General of the Department of Groundwater Resources, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of Thailand and his delegation at the Ambassador’s Residence. They travel to Denmark to study the advancement in applying technology and innovation to manage and regulate groundwater resources as well as establishing a network for groundwater resource management in order to promote the development of groundwater resource management potential in Thailand. The delegation met with the Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland (GEUS) at Aarhus University on 28 November 2022.

Since 2012, Thailand and Denmark have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on groundwater resource management in order to foster academic cooperation and relations between the Department of Groundwater Resources, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of Thailand and the GEUS of Denmark. The study visit of the Thai delegation is in accordance with the aforementioned MOU. On this occasion, Her Excellency the Ambassador also hosted a luncheon for the delegation.
