On 10 June 2024, the Committee on Social Welfare of the House of Representatives of Thailand led by Mr. Nattacha Bunchaiinsawat, Chairperson of the Committee, along with 19 members, visited the Ministry of Social Affairs, Housing and Senior Citizens of Denmark. Ms. Mia Lindström, Head of Section, Center for Legal and International Affairs, welcomed the delegation and gave a lecture on the overview of Danish welfare system. Mr. Jeppe Dall Gregersen, Head of Section in the Office for Social Housing, lectured about the housing project for underprivileged people.
On 11 June 2024, the Committee visited the Danish Parliament to meet with the Danish Social Affairs Commitee. Ms. Nanna W. Gotfredsen, Chairwoman of the Social Affair Committee talked about the functions of the Danish Social Affairs Commission, state welfares for citizens of all ages and welfare for underprivileged people in society through employment. Then, Mr. Jon Stephensen, a member of the Social Welfare Committee, provided a briefing and addressed inquiries about the connection between taxes and the welfare state.
On 12 June 2024, the delegation was briefed at the Royal Thai Embassy by Mr. Puwit Wisartsakul, Deputy Head of Mission/Counsellor and Mr. Teerakarn Sawetsila, Counsellor/Consul, who welcomed and addressed inquiries about overview of Danish politics, economics and society, by focusing on the Danish welfare system and elderly welfares, as well as relations between Thailand and Denmark in various dimensions. In addition, after the briefing, the delegation also visited a nursing home located next to the Royal Thai Embassy and discussed about ways to promote and develop elderly care system in Thailand.
