This inaugural symposium, organized by the TCCA, served as a platform for exchanging knowledge and enhancing collaboration between the government, public, and academic sectors to develop and implement CCUS technology within Thailand. This cutting-edge technology aims at reducing carbon dioxide emissions, creating opportunities to effectively advance Thailand's strategic goals of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050 and net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2065.

Later on 7 June 2024, the Chiang Mai CCS invited the speakers to give another special lecture and workshop at the Faculty of Engineering, Chiang Mai University about CCS technology and innovation. The speakers were welcomed by Associate Professor Dr. Cheowchan Leelasukseree, Head of the Department of Mining and Petroleum Engineering, Associate Professor Dr. Natthanan Promsuk, Associate Professor Dr. Suparit Tangparitkul, researchers and students.

The project was successful conducted as the starting point of cooperation between Thailand's TCCA network and Denmark's Greensand project as well as the DTU in the development of CCUS knowledges for industry clusters related to CCUS technology in Thailand.
