On 16 June 2025, H.E. Mrs. Suphanvasa Chotikajan Tang, Ambassador of Thailand to Denmark, welcomed the delegation of Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, the Governor of Bangkok in their visit to Denmark and met with Mr. Lars Weiss, Lord Mayor of Copenhagen at the Copenhagen City Hall. During the meeting, they exchanged views on sustainable urban management in terms of public space, pollution-free public transport, and urban planning that promotes public health. Their discussion also touched on ways to create an urban environment which supports cycling and walking, to effectively reduce traffic and air pollution in the capital. Her Excellency the Ambassador also thanked the Copenhagen Municipality for providing the venue in front of City Hall Square for the Thai Festival in Copenhagen, which has been held there for the third year in a row. The Lord Mayor of Copenhagen expressed his support to the Thai Festival in the following years to promote cultural exchange and create understanding in multi-faceted society.
On this occasion, Her Excellency the Ambassador and diplomats of the Embassy hosted a dinner for the delegation at the Thai Residence on 17 June 2025. Her Excellency the Ambassador spoke about the longstanding diplomatic relations between Thailand and Denmark with 2025 marking the 167th year of relations. They also discussed issues concerning rapid urban development of Copenhagen towards becoming a green city through the effective implementation of the public-private partnership model in Denmark, contributing to the success of Copenhagen’s rapid development as a model city which was recently ranked as the number one most liveable city in the world.
