On 13th October 2023, H.E. Mrs. Sirilak Niyom, Ambassador of Thailand to Denmark, presented the “Volunteer Consul Award 2023” certificate to Ms. Wanida Samittiwiwat, President of Rak Thai Association, to show appreciations for the ongoing activities by Ms. Wanida and the association to support the Thai community in Denmark and their contribution to the consular work of the Embassy during the past year. These works included the establishment of “Thai Social Service Center”, a volunteer center to provide guidance and assistance for Thai nationals in Denmark, the organization of the ceremony for Thai Mother’s day and Thai Festival, and the provision of information related to consular matters for the Thai community. Moreover, the association also taught Thai language and instilled the knowledge of Thai culture to young generations of Thai decent who were born and raised in Denmark through its “Rak Thai School” to promote the awareness of Thai culture and identity.

In this occasion, the Ambassador took the opportunity to provide an annual donation to Phra Khru Phinetsasanakhun, Abbot of Watpa Copenhagen, to support the activities of the temple, as well as to Rak Thai Association to utilize for the benefit of the Thai community.

“Volunteer Consul Award 2023" is an award initiated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand to celebrate a Thai or foreign national who voluntarily and consistently dedicate oneself to support the consular work of Royal Thai Embassies and Royal Thai Consulate General.
