The Royal Thai Embassy in Copenhagen attended the Amazing Thailand “Surat Thani” Post ITB Roadshow in Copenhagen 2024

On 12 March 2024, Mr. Puwit Wisartsakul, Deputy Chief of Mission and Mr. Jaya Patrachai, Counsellor attended the Amazing Thailand “Surat Thani” Post ITB Roadshow in Copenhagen 2024 at CPH Conference/DGI Byen, Copenhagen, organized by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Stockholm Office led by Mrs. Orn Doungchan, TAT’s Director for the Nordic and Baltic countries, Stockholm Office. Mr. Ratchaporn Poolsawat, Head of the Samui Tourism Promotion Association, representatives from Thai Airways and Bangkok Airways as well as tour operators from Thailand, Denmark, and Sweden (Malmö and Helsingborg) also participated in this event where 14 Thai tour operators met with 14 leading travel agencies from Denmark and Sweden to create business network and stimulate tourists from Denmark to Thailand.
 
On this occasion, the DCM welcomed participants by mentioning the Thai Government’s Thailand Vision “IGNITE Thailand” which aims to drive the economy towards a sustainable future and elevate Thai industries to the world-class which encompasses of being a tourist city center as well as a medical and health hub. Thailand, a world leading tourist destination, is popular among Danish tourists and has continuously received awards from Denmark and rankings from the international travel organizations and websites. This includes tourist attractions in Surat Thani, such as Koh Samui, Koh Tao, and Koh Phangan which are well-known all over the world. He also emphasized the Thai Government’s policy which promotes a sustainable tourism by using Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) Economy Model, a tourism in secondary cities, local festivals, Muay Thai, and Thai food which are soft powers of Thailand. Apart from that, Thailand also aims to be a transportation hub which connects to regional and inter-regional infrastructure as well as plans to improve international airports throughout the country, including the Landbridge project in the southern part of Thailand which is not far from Surat Thani. In 2024, Thailand aims to welcome more than 35 million foreign tourists or an increase of 25 percent from 2023. Subsequently, he presented prizes to the lucky winners who were Danish tour operators recipients of the prize of travel packages and accommodations in Thailand.
