On 5 August 2025 at 13.30 hrs., the Royal Thai Embassy in Copenhagen organized a reforestation volunteering activity “Together we grow: Nurturing forest diversity” to commemorate Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother’s 93th Birthday Anniversary on 12 August 2025, in collaboration with the Danish Nature Agency under the Ministry of Environment of Denmark. H.E. Mrs. Suphanvasa Chotikajan Tang, Ambassador of Thailand to Denmark, led the Embassy’s officials, staff, the Thai community and families as well as Friends of Thailand, of more than 25 people to thin-out the branches of Oak trees, Birch trees, and Aspen saplings in the Greve Skov forest area in Karlslunde, 35 km south-west of Copenhagen. The participants were warmly welcomed by Mr. Jens Nielsen, and staff from the Danish Nature Agency who also provided information about reforestation process and trimming branches with the trees to grow well and provide natural habitat for small animals to create biodiversity.

Reforestation efforts are aimed at increasing green areas, controlling the amount of carbon dioxide, reducing global warming, as well as increasing biodiversity. The activity hoped to carry on Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother’s prerogative to conserve the environment and natural resources. In addition, volunteering activity supports social responsibility in the host country, helping to enhance the unity, status and dignity of the Thai community living in Denmark. In this regard, the Embassy is grateful to the Thai community and Friends of Thailand who participated in this reforestation volunteering activity, making it a great success.
