On March 26, 2025, H.E. Mrs. Suphanvasa Chotikajan Tang, Ambassador-Designated of Thailand to Denmark, welcomed 30 participants from the 11th e-Government Program for Chief Executive Officer (e-GCEO#11), organized by the Digital Government Development Agency (DGA) to learn about government technology (GovTech) and digital service development, as well as to engage with several leading Danish organizations playing a key role in advancing digital government.
On this occasion, H.E. Mrs. Suphanvasa Chotikajan Tang, Ambassador-Designate of Thailand to Denmark, along with officials from the Royal Thai Embassy, gave a briefing on an overview of Thailand-Denmark relations, Denmark’s political, economic, and social landscape, as well as insights of Denmark’s digital systems and key Thai-Danish collaborations in various fields, including cultural cooperation and the Thai community in Denmark. Denmark has been ranked the world's No. 1 Best-performing digital government in the UN e-Government Survey 2024 for the third time in a row (after 2018 and 2020) and has the highest number of citizens using e-Government services across the EU, with 99% of citizens using digital public services in 2023. Denmark is well-known for coherent digital government strategies providing comprehensive, convenient and secure digital government services. After the briefing, the Ambassador hosted a dinner for the delegation at the Thai Ambassador’s Residence.
As part of their study visit, the delegation visited the Danish Parliament (Folketinget) to learn about the Citizen Proposal mechanism, which allows citizens to submit proposals for parliamentary discussion. They also visited the Digital Hub Denmark, a center focused on fostering a technology and innovation ecosystem that connects the government, businesses, and tech startups. The Thai delegation also visited the Danish Business Authority to explore how digital technology streamlines business operations and reduces bureaucratic procedures, as well as e-Boks, a digital document management platform used by both the government and businesses to enhance efficiency and convenience in handling official documents. Additionally, the delegation visited Cbrain, a company specializing in digital governance solutions which has collaboration with Thailand’s Pollution Control Department.
This study visit provided the delegation with valuable insights into Denmark’s approach to digital public services and reinforced Thailand’s commitment to leveraging digital technology to improve government service efficiency.
