Ambassador of Thailand to Denmark participated in “Amazing Thailand Roadshow to Aarhus 2023”

On 27 April 2023, H.E. Mrs. Sirilak Niyom, Ambassador of Thailand to Denmark participated in “Amazing Thailand Roadshow to Aarhus 2023” at Hotel Comwell Aarhus, Dolce by Wyndham in Aarhus, which was organized by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Stockholm office led by Mr. Teerasil Tapen, TAT Executive Director for Europe, Africa and Middle East Region, Ms. Denduen Leungcheng, Director of Marketing Division for Europe, Africa and the Middle East, and Mrs. Orn Doungchan, TAT’s Director for the Nordic and Baltic countries, Stockholm Office. Thai Airways’ representatives, tour operators from Thailand and Denmark as well as hotel and resorts operators in Thailand also participated in this event.
 
The event was organized with an objective to stimulate the Nordic markets and create business opportunities for Thai tour and hotel operators by arranging 15 Thai entrepreneurs to meet with more than 20 leading travel agencies from Denmark and the Nordic and Baltic countries, as well as to present tourist attractions in Thailand and promote meaningful tourism to support nature conservation and protect green spaces throughout Thailand.
 
On this occasion, Her Excellency the Ambassador welcomed participants by citing numerous international travel organizations and websites that have consistently recognized and ranked Thailand as the top tourism destination in the world. The Ambassador further emphasized the Thai Government’s policy which promotes a sustainable and responsible tourism and a revitalization of the tourism sector by using Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) Economy Model, as guideline of tourism promotion adhering to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations. She also highlighted Thailand’s role as a top global destination for international events and informed the participants about Thailand’s candidature for the Expo 2028 in Phuket under the theme “Future of Life: Living in Harmony, Sharing Prosperity” which would help create greater opportunities for medical tourism.
 
Thailand received 11.15 million foreign visitors in 2022. From January to March 2023, Thailand recorded about 6.4 million tourists, which in 12-month period the number of tourists are expected to reach 30 million.
 
In addition, Her Excellency the Ambassador also presented prizes to the lucky winners who were 4 Danish tour operators recipients of the prize of accommodation in Thailand.
