The Royal Thai Embassy in Copenhagen participates in Buddhist merit making Ceremonies and Commemorative Activities on the Occasion of His Majesty the Kings Birthday Anniversary, 28 July 2026

On 27 July 2026, at 10.00 hrs., the Royal Thai Embassy in Copenhagen held a Buddhist chanting ceremony at Wat Pa Copenhagen to dedicate merit to His Majesty the King, in observance of His Majesty’s Birthday Anniversary on 28 July 2026. The Most Venerable Phra Witheth Vajirakitti, Abbot of Wat Pa Copenhagen, presided over the religious proceedings, accompanied by three monks. Mrs. Suphanvasa Chotikajan Tang, Ambassador of Thailand to Denmark, presided over the ceremony on behalf of lay participants. The event was attended by diplomats, their spouses, embassy staff, and representatives of the Thai community in Denmark.

During the ceremony, the Ambassador lit incense and candles to pay homage to the Triple Gem — the Buddha, the Dhamma, and the Sangha — before presenting an offering of flowers, incense and candles before the royal portrait of His Majesty the King. The monks then administered the Five Precepts and chanted Buddhist sutras. Thereafter, the Ambassador and all participants presented traditional monastic requisites to the monks.

Later in the day, at 14.00 hrs. at the Embassy premises, the Ambassador presided over a ceremony attended by diplomats and Embassy staff to offer auspicious blessings by presenting ceremonial offerings together with flowers, incense and candles as a mark of respect before the Royal portrait of His Majesty the King. She then delivered an address of homage and auspicious blessings, before leading all those present in taking the oath of allegiance, pledging to be good public servants and a source of strength for the nation. This was followed by a candlelighting ceremony to offer royal blessings. All attendees then joined in singing the Royal Anthem and the song “Sadudi Jom Raja” (Homage to the Great King), before signing the official book of wellwishes, to demonstrate their loyalty and profound gratitude for His Majesty’s immense benevolence.

On this auspicious occasion, the Royal Thai Embassy in Copenhagen invites all Thai nationals to submit their messages of goodwill and sign the book of well-wishes online via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website at: https://www.mfa.go.th/…/hismajestythekingsbirthday…
