Ambassador of Thailand to Denmark had a meeting with executives of Moesgaard Museum in preparation for the upcoming Thai Festival on 21 August 2022 in Aarhus

On 3 August 2022 at 10.00hrs., Her Excellency Mrs. Sirilak Niyom, Ambassador of Thailand to Denmark, together with Mr. Theerakun Niyom, her spouse, and officials of the Royal Thai Embassy, visited Moesgaard Museum in Aarhus to discuss with Mr. Mads Kähler Host, the Museum’s Director, Associate Professor Mikael Gravers from Aarhus University and Mr. Ulrik Høj Johnsen, curator of the Museum, together with representatives of the Sawasdee Thai-Danish Association and the Thai Heritage group, on organisation of the Thai Festival 2022 at Thai House at Moesgaard, which is an old Thai style wooden house from Ayutthaya Province and the only Thai architecture on the grounds of Moesgaard Museum, on 22 August 2022, from 11.00hrs. to 16.30hrs. The event will begin with religious ceremony at Thai House followed by the opening ceremony of the Festival where people can enjoy a variety of Thai foods and cultural performances. A mobile consular service will also be provided for the Thai community during the event. In addition, Her Excellency the Ambassador and the Director of Moesgaard Museum will co-host a Thai dinner for executives of Aarhus City and University on 20 August 2022 at the Museum.
After the meeting, the Museum’s Director guided Her Excellency the Ambassador to visit the current exhibition “Rus-Vikings in the East” at the Moesgaard Museum which attracts around 250,000 visitors this summer and hosted a lunch for the delegation at the Museum’s restaurant where both sides also discussed the possibility to organise an exhibition of Thai Collections of Museum so that visitors can see and learn about Thailand.
