On 14 March 2023, H.E. Mrs. Sirilak Niyom, Ambassador of Thailand to Denmark and Mr. Theerakun Niyom, her spouse, hosted a dinner for Mr. Jens Christian Wandel, Under-Secretary- General and Acting Executive Director of the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) and Mrs. Kirsten Wandel, his spouse. Thai personnels working in the UN agencies in Copenhagen, namely Ms. Angkana Santhiprechachit, Programme Area Manager (Management and Administration) Health Emergency Programme, World Health Organization (WHO), Mr. Peeranut Prechathavanich, Project Finance Senior Analyst, UNOPS, Ms. Punyakorn Sirirutanopas, Finance Associate, UNOPS and Ms. Thanita Niyom, Portfolio Associate, UNOPS, along with UN foreign personnels who used to worked in Thailand namely Ms. Ruxandra Radu, Procurement Specialist, and Mr. Kaiwen Xu, Administration Associate of UNOPS, as well as diplomats of the Royal Thai Embassy also joined the dinner.
On such occasion, Her Excellency the Ambassador discussed with Mr. Wandel and the attendees about ways to increase representation of Thai nationals in the UN system, opportunities for career advancement in the UN, internships for Thai students, as well as open positions at the UN agencies in Copenhagen that may present an opportunity for Thai nationals.
