On 30 October 2023, H.E. Mrs. Sirilak Niyom, Ambassador of Thailand to Denmark hosted a dinner in honour of H.E. Mr. Thomas Lund-Sørensen for his recent position as Director for Department of Asia, Latin America and Oceania, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, at Thai Ambassador’s Residence.
The dinner was also attended by Mr. David Schjerlund, Director of Export, Innovation and Global Public Affairs, the Trade Council, Mrs. Lone Thorup, Chief Advisor and Mr. Frederik Just Jernov, Head of Section, Department of Asia, Latin America and Oceania, together with Ms. Nitchaporn Varnapruk, Director of Thai Trade Center Nordics and diplomats of the Royal Thai Embassy as well as spouses. During the dinner, both sides congratulated successful outcome of the 6th Thai-Danish Political Consultation meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand in Bangkok on 12 October 2023 and discussed ways to work closely together to pursue bilateral cooperations in various sectors which were agreed upon in the meeting to have concrete results. Her Excellency the Ambassador also took this opportunity to thank Mr. David Schjerlund for his support and participation during the official launch of the Thailand Nordic Countries Innovation Unit (TNIU) in September 2022 which is a useful platform for various Thai agencies who wishes to promote cooperation with Denmark in the areas of innovation and sustainable development.
