On 17 February 2025, Mr. Puwit Wisartsakul, Chargé d'Affaires a.i. ,attended the President Gitanas Nausėda of the Republic of Lithuania’s annual meeting 2025 with foreign diplomatic corps accredited to Lithuania at the Presidential Palace in Vilnius.

During the ceremony, Chargé d'Affaires a.i. had the opportunity to converse with Mr. Kęstutis Budrys, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania. He highlighted the positive dynamic in Thailand-Lithuania relations, which have been strengthened through recent collaborative activities. In particular, he emphasized the success of the 4th Thailand-Lithuania Political Consultation, hosted by the Thai side, and the signing of the Agreement between the Kingdom of Thailand and the Republic of Lithuania on the Exemption of Visa Requirement for Holders of Diplomatic and Official or Service Passports in which Mr. Egidijus Meilunas, former Lithuanian Vice-Foreign Minister, visited Thailand in 2024 to co-chair the aforementioned meeting and sign the Agreement.

Additionally, Chargé d'Affaires a.i. mentioned several initiatives organized by the Royal Thai Embassy in Copenhagen, which facilitated visits by Lithuanian experts to Thailand to promote cooperation in various mutually beneficial areas. The Lithuanian Foreign Minister reaffirmed Lithuania’s Indo-Pacific strategy, underscoring Thailand as a key partner in the region.

During the diplomatic reception, Chargé d'Affaires a.i. also met with Mr. Vaidas Augustinavičius, Advisor to the President of the Republic of Lithuania, Economic and Social Policy Group. They discussed opportunities for collaboration between Thailand and Lithuania, particularly in the economic sector, as well as the potential for high-level exchange visits in the future.
