On 15 February 2023, H.E. Mrs. Sirilak Niyom, Ambassador of Thailand to Lithuania with residence in Copenhagen, attended the President of the Republic of Lithuania’s annual meeting with foreign diplomatic corps at the Presidential Palace in Vilnius. In his keynote speech, President Gitanas Nausėda highlighted the issues of the war in Ukraine, cooperation with the EU, economic potential and investment opportunities in Lithuania, especially in the IT, FinTech and life sciences industries, as well as enhancing relations with countries in the Indo-Pacific to promote trade and expand markets with countries in such region, including Thailand.

 

During the reception H.E. the Ambassador has informed the President about the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Lithuania in 2023, in which Thailand will host the 4th Political Consultations in Bangkok, which will be a good opportunity for both sides to discuss ways to promote cooperation in various fields.

 

On this occasion, the Ambassador also conveyed the text of the Royal Message from His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua of Thailand addressed to the President of the Republic of Lithuania on the occasion of the Day of the Restoration of the State of Lithuania on 16 February 2023 through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania.
