On 31 March 2023, H.E. Mrs. Sirilak Niyom, Ambassador of Thailand to Lithuania with residence in Copenhagen, and Mr. Theerakun Niyom, her spouse, hosted a dinner for Mr. Rolandas Valiūnas, Honorary Consul of Thailand in Vilnius, and Mrs. Renata Valiūnienė, his spouse, at the Thai Ambassador’s Residence during their visit to Copenhagen with the participation of the Embassy’s officials and their spouses. On this occasion, H.E. the Ambassador discussed with the Honorary Consul on ways to enhance relations between Thailand and Lithuania and promote cooperation in various areas that both countries have the potential and share mutual interest such as life sciences, energy, digital technology, trade and investment, Thai food promotion, activities to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Thailand-Lithuania diplomatic relations in 2023, as well as seeking support from the Lithuanian side for Thailand to host the Specialized Expo 2028 in Phuket. In addition, the Ambassador also updated the situation in Thailand, which is about to hold a general election on 14 May 2023, and asking the Honorary Consulate to help facilitate the Thai community in Lithuania on the occasion that the Embassy will hold an overseas election in April 2023.
