Ambassador of Thailand to Denmark presided over of the opening ceremony of Wat Buddhadham Visuddhi in Brovst

On 24th June 2026 H.E. Sirilak Niyom, Ambassador of Thailand to Denmark, together with Mr. Teerakarn Savetsila, Consul, and his spouse, participated in an opening ceremony of Wat Buddhadham Visuddhi in Brovst. For the ceremony, Phramaha Sajjat Vajiranano served as the Chair of the Sangha and was joined by the monks from Buddhist temples in Denmark, Norway and Germany. The Ambassador, as the Lay Chairperson, lit candles and incents to pay respect to the Trirattana (the Buddha, the Dhamma, the Sangha), joined the prayers, gave offerings to the monks, participated in the sign – opening ceremony, and planted a tree to celebrate this auspicious occasion. Later, together with the Thai community, she also gave alms, and offered lunch to the monks.

After the ceremony concluded, the Ambassador addressed members of the Thai community. She took the opportunity to congratulate the official opening of the temple, reiterated the importance of the temple as the source of unity of Thai community, and heartened a continuous support from the community to enable the temple to spread the pure Dhamma of Buddha. In this occasion, the Ambassador also invited members of the Thai community to extend their best wishes to His Holiness Somdet Phra Ariyavongsagatayana, the Supreme Patriarch of Thailand, on His Holiness’s 96th Birthday Anniversary on 26 June 2023. In addition, she encouraged the adoption of His Holiness’s teachings for the benefits of maintaining one’s morality, social harmony, and Thai culture.

The Ambassador also took this opportunity to introduce Mr. Teerakarn to members of the Thai community and informed them that the Embassy organized a mobile consular service in Aalborg on the same day. After all the proceedings finished, the Ambassador and the Consul utilized the opportunity to greet Thai nationals who joined the ceremony and helped organize the almshouse.
