On 28 - 29 September 2021, Her Excellency Mrs. Sirilak Niyom, Ambassador-designate of Thailand to Denmark met with Thai communities in Nuuk and Ilulissat of Greenland, during the Ambassador's trip to Greenland, which was organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark for accredited foreign ambassadors with resident in Copenhagen.

There are approximately 200 Thai people in Greenland, most of which work as chefs and hospitality staff in hotels and restaurants while some own business in the service sector such as restaurants, spas and grocery stores. All have good living conditions and are able to earn their living. They have also adapted well to the local environment and contribute positively to the Greenlandic society.

During the meeting, Her Excellency the Ambassador answered questions and gave advice on consular matters. She also informed the Thai community that the Royal Thai Embassy will arrange a mobile consular service to Greenland regularly to facilitate and reduce the cost of traveling to Copenhagen for the Thai community. The next consular service is scheduled to take place in June- or July 2022.
