On 2 March 2025, H.E. Mrs. Suphanvasa Chotikajan Tang, Ambassador-Designate of Thailand to Denmark, visited Wat Pa Copenhagen to pay her respect to Phravithetvajirakitti, Abbot of the Temple, on the occasion of assumption of her duty in Denmark. The Ambassador, together with diplomats, and their spouses, joined the members of the Thai community in the morning prayers and the giving of alms and food to the monks.
 
In this occasion, the Ambassador took the opportunity to introduce herself to the Thai community and mentioned about the longstanding and close relations between Thailand and Denmark for over 400 years, as well as diplomatic relations for over 165 years. She also expressed her interest to learn more about Danish culture which shared certain similarities with Thai culture, especially on the value of family. The Ambassador also looked forward to a close cooperation with the Temple and the Thai community in the future.
 
Wat Pa Copenhagen, established in 1992, is one of the oldest Thai temples in Denmark, and has continuously been regarded as a spiritual center of the Thai community in Copenhagen and the surrounding areas. The temple plays an important role in bridging the Embassy with the local Thai community, as well as providing crucial support for the work of the Embassy in multitude of areas, including organizing Buddhist ceremonies, cultural work, as well as consular work. Moreover, Phravithetvajirakitti, Abbot of the Temple, also served as a Chair of Buddhist Dhammayut sect in Europe.
