On 27 March 2025, H.E. Mrs. Suphanvasa Chotikajan Tang, Ambassador-Designate of Thailand to Denmark visited Moesgaard Museum (MOMU), an archaeological and ethnographical museum in Aarhus. The Ambassador was welcomed by Mr. Mads Kähler Holst, Executive Director of MOMU, and Mr. Peter Hambro Mikkelsen, Department Head of Conservation and Natural Science. She was later provided a guided tour of the “Thai House” in the yard of the Museum, and the exhibitions by the Museum’s executives.

In this occasion, the Ambassador discussed with the executives of the Museum regarding a long-standing cooperation between the Embassy and the Museum, especially the “Thai festival at Thai House at Moesgaard Museum in Aarhus” which was co-organized by the Embassy and the Museum in 2022. Moreover, she also explored potential future cooperation with the Museum to promote Thai culture which was in line with the Museum’s mission to educate the public on cultural diversity.

“Thai House” is a traditional Thai-styled wooden house from Ayutthaya Province in Thailand. The house was given as a gift to the Museum by Dr. Pensak Jaksujinda, spouse of H.E. Mr. Frantz Howitz, former Danish ambassador to Thailand, and the President of Raindrop Foundation, in 1975. It went under renovation and was completed in September 2017. “Thai House” is the only foreign piece of architecture on the grounds of the Museum and represents the long-standing close and cordial relations between Thailand and Denmark. In the past, HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn and Queen Margrethe II of Denmark have visited the “Thai House” on separate occasions.
