On 1 May 2026, H.E. Mrs. Suphanvasa Chotikjan Tang, Ambassador of Thailand to Denmark paid a courtesy call on Ms. Anne H. Steffensen, Director General and CEO of Danish Shipping, a trade and employers' organization for Denmark's shipping industry which composes of more than 90 members. In this occasion, the Ambassador and Ms. Steffensen shared an in-depth discussion about the adverse effects of the conflict in the Strait of Hormuz on Denmark’s shipping industry, on Thailand, and the global supply chain. In addition, both sides also exchanged views on the role of the Danish Government in assisting the shipping industry during the current conflict in the Middle East, the importance of the freedom of navigation, Greenland, as well as a transition from traditional to green shipping in which Thailand could benefit from Denmark’s experiences as one of the leaders on the subject.

The meeting with the Director General and the CEO of Danish Shipping served as an opportunity for Thailand to learn about the initiatives implemented by the Danish shipping industry to navigate this unpredictable geopolitical situation, and the strategies to develop green shipping strategies based on the utilization of green fuel, reducing the reliance on traditional fuels.
