On 26 August 2021, H.E. Mrs. Sirilak Niyom, Ambassador-designate of Thailand to Denmark, met with H.E. Mr. Ove Ullerup, Chairman of the Board, and H.E. Mrs. Susanne Rumohr Haekkerup, Executive Director of Asia House and East Asiatic Company (EAC) Foundation, at Asia House. Both sides underlined the significance of the East Asiatic Company in the long history of Thai – Danish relations and the importance of Asia House and the EAC Foundation in reinforcing the special ties between the two countries in modern times as Thailand and Denmark celebrate the 400th Anniversary of the first contact in 2021. H.E. Ambassador of Thailand expressed her appreciation for Asia House’s continual support for various activities organized by the Royal Thai Embassy, including the Chulalongkorn Memorial Day on 23rd October each year where the Thai communities in Denmark gather to pay tribute to the replica of the equestrian statue of King Rama V. Both sides also exchanged ideas on how to work together to further strengthen and broaden cooperation, especially between business communities of the two countries in areas such as green technology, agriculture and food.
