On 27 June 2017 His Excellency Mr.Chaisiri Anamarn, Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand and former Ambassador of Thailand to Denmark between 2005-2007 presided over the reception on the occasion of the 160th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between Thailand and Denmark. His Excellency Mr.Vichit Chitvimarn Ambassador of Thailand to Denmark gave his welcoming remarks and His Excellency Mr.Erik Laursen , Head of Asia, Latin America and Oceania Department representing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark as Guest of Honor also co-delivered the opening speech.

During the reception, there were two performances which included a traditional Thai dancing troop from Nakhon Ratchasima Ratchabhat University and the Balsev/Moth duo band that performed traditional Danish music. The Reception was attended by almost 200 guests including Lord Chamberlain, Deputy Private Secretary to Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II of Denmark, members of diplomatic corps, high level representatives from both Danish private and public sectors, the media and team Thailand.

Thailand and Denmark officially established their diplomatic relations during the reigns of His Majesty King Rama IV of Siam and His Majesty King Frederick VII of Denmark where the two Kingdoms signed the Treaty of Friendship, Commerce, and Navigation on 21 May 1858.
