The organiser of ITU Telecom World has chosen to host the next edition in Thailand, with the aim of boosting information and communication technology (ICT) progress in the region.

The Ministry of ICT, the Royal Thai Government and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) have signed a Host Country Agreement to mark the official cooperation between Thailand and the organiser.

The event will be held on 19-22 November at the Impact Arena Exhibition and Convention Center, Bangkok, and will co-locate with Connect Asia-Pacific Summit 2013.

The international telecommunication event will operate under the theme of ‘Embracing Change in a Digital World’, focusing on five key topics: Changes in the way people communicate with each other; the need for new business models in a data-centric era; shifting industry dynamics; changes in technology; and the need for new regulatory and standardisation approaches.
