Thailand will be hosting the Bangkok Symposium on Landmine Victim Assistance: Enhancing a Comprehensive and Sustainable Mine Action on 14 – 16 June 2015 in Bangkok followed by a field visit to Surin Province on 16 – 17 June 2015.

The Symposium is aimed at assisting landmine-affected States Parties to the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention to strengthen national assistance programmes, identify challenges in implementing the Maputo Action Plan adopted during the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention Review Conference in 2014 and integrate landmine assistance programme in a broader disability perspective.

The invitation is extended to all States whether or not they are Parties to the Convention as victim assistance agenda is equally applicable to all involved in addressing humanitarian challenges associated with mines and other explosive remnants of war. Relevant international organizations and non-governmental organizations are also invited to participate.  Please register by 1 June 2015.
